EuroCohort team members from Daugavpils University Prof. Anita Stasulane and researcher Ilze Kacane participated in the 12th annual International Technology, Education and Development Conference, INTED 2018, that was held in Valencia on the 5th–7th of March, 2018. Their presentation “The General Nature of the National Children and Young People Policy in Latvia” had a twofold aim: to explore the institutional coverage for children and youth policy and to analyse the main obstacles of implementing child and youth policy at national and municipal level. The presentation also introduced “The European Cohort Development Project” as a successor of FP7 project MYWeB that had provided the proof of concept for the development of a Europe wide longitudinal survey of child and youth well-being. The international forum was attended by more than 700 participants from 75 countries creating multicultural scientific atmosphere.
INTED is one of the largest international education conferences for lecturers, researchers, technologists and professionals from the educational sector. It is also an ideal platform for international strategic networking and a place to present various innovations and projects. The conference was organized by The International Academy of Technology, Education and Development (IATED), an organisation dedicated to the promotion of international education and university cooperation in the field of Technology and Science, the mission of which is creation and dissemination of knowledge and exerting influence on public policy.
