In the last summer the team of Manchester Metropolitan University participated in two conferences to spread the idea of EuroCohort and gather feedback to the work already done in the frames of the project.
The EuroCohort project was strongly represented at the conference of Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies (SLLS) held in Milan, Italy from 9th to 11th of July 2018. The focus of the conference was set on „Qualitative and Quantitative Longitudinal Research on Social Change and Its Impacts“. EuroCohort project coordinator Prof. Gary Pollock participated at one of the policy symposiums. His presentation focused on policy considerations for the EuroCohort Research Infrastructure. He also contributed to Economic and Social Research Councils (ESRC) review of longitudinal studies introducing the idea of EuroCohort. There was also a poster presentation of EuroCohort, where Gary Pollock, Jessica Ozan and Haridhan Goswami all from Mancester Metropolitan University had the opportunity to introduce the planned longitudinal survey to conference participants.
Short weeks after that the same team presented at Methods of Longitudinal Studies Conference. The event was held from 25 to 27 of July 2018 in University of Essex. The presentation by Gary Pollock, Jessica Ozan and Haridhan Goswami (MMU) was titled “Questionnaire design for a cross-national European cohort survey: findings from the European Cohort Development Project”. The paper presented preliminary work on instrument design.
