A new briefing paper titled “Future trends and scenarios shaping the future of child and youth wellbeing in Europe” describes future trends and scenarios that can be used when thinking about child and youth wellbeing in Europe. The four proposed scenarios are titled “Resourceful Nations Scenario”, “High-Tech Globality Scenario”, “New Romanticism Scenario” and “World of contrasts Scenario”. The differences of the scenarios are further highlighted by storylines of four hypothetical children inhabiting these futures.
The briefing paper is a result of a Scenario Planning Exercise undertaken by the EuroCohort team. The aim of the exercise was to future proof EuroCohort by developing scenarios of the world in ten years time and considering the implications of these scenarios for child and youth wellbeing.
