Network

GUIDE was appointed to the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) 2021 Roadmap, and has received political and financial support commitments from several EU countries. GUIDE was developed by a team of experts who represent different scientific communities such as: longitudinal survey methodology, child and youth development and wellbeing, demography, economics, psychology and sociology.

The GUIDE project will consolidate and strengthen an integrated European scientific community network, initiated in COORDINATE to help deepen the knowledge and capacity for the use of international birth cohort panel survey data, which focus on child and youth wellbeing. This involves the development of the technical and scientific cohort studies competencies and academic networks of a specialist group of early career research fellows distributed across Europe. Moreover, to guarantee long-term sustainability of the GUIDE research infrastructure we are establishing appropriate links with government and research organisations, third sector organisations, and stakeholders involved in national and European policy development networks and funding bodies.

GUIDEPREP is led by University College Dublin and co-led by Manchester Metropolitan University and includes an established network of scientists working in longitudinal survey research across 20 countries in Europe.
